ERG uses SolidWorks 3D modelling software to model components and assemblies, and to create drawings for manufacturing. Machine shops can use exported solid models directly for programming and inspection, drastically reducing programming time. We can also export DXF files for shape cutting with CNC cutting equipment. Drawings are provided in PDF format electronically, and original SolidWorks model files, assembly files and drawing files are provided.
We have a solid understanding of a wide variety of manufacturing processes, and strive to tailor design to permit economical manufacture by avoiding the use of processes that are not readily available, and limiting set-ups when machining. We believe in keeping things simple, adding complexity only as required or desired by the customer. Our selection of materials will reflect what is available locally, or at the point of manufacture, and will consider processing and finishing.
We have worked on a wide range of equipment and structures, and have considerable experience with high performance rotating equipment such as drilling equipment. We can assist in the design of everything from gearbox components to welded structures, and have developed hydraulic components for high-performance hydrostatic drive systems and special application cylinders.
We have experience with a wide range of critical machinery fits: Shrink fits, spline fits, bearing fits, pilots, seal wear rings, shrink disc and friction locking device fits, and we have designed tooling for installation and removal of bearings where needed. We understand the need for handling in the shop and during assembly and regularly add features to enable safe and easy handling where desirable.
We have experience working with shop and operational personnel to ensure that equipment is easily serviced and maintained. We strive for low maintenance, and a minimum requirement for special tools or support equipment. We believe that durable, reliable equipment that is easy to keep running is always welcome to operators and owners.
